Your local Health Department Offers The Following Services:

1. Registration of vital statistics for all births and deaths within corporate limits of Coshocton City; certified copies of birth/death certificates may be obtained for a fee of   $17.00              

2. Provides Tuberculin Mantoux test on request. Can make arrangements for chest X-ray when requested by a physician.

3. Provide immunizations to school age children and adults on request.

4. Annual flu clinics and pneumonia shots provided to the public. The City will accept Medicare part B, Medicaid and private pay.

5. Provide containers for lab specimens to be sent to state lab.

6. Assist in provision of care for handicapped children- can make referrals for diagnostic exams etc. through Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH).

7. Home visits/evaluations/assessments to any city resident on request or referral.

8. Follow-up home visits to newborns for assessment/evaluation on request or referral.

9. Assist in referral to other community agencies for city residents as needed.

10. Referral of children to State Vision, Hearing and Developmental Clinics.

11. Investigation of nuisance complaints and health hazards by Sanitarian.

12. Inspections and licensure of food service operatives by Sanitarian.

13. Staff available on request for community programs.

14. Health education literature and information available on request.

15. Inspections are made prior to installation of septic tanks.

16. License and inspect mobile home sites, camp trailer sites, and swimming pools.

17. Provide vector control (mosquito spraying) –information is given out for all vector problems.

18. Rabies control-investigation of animal bites.

19. Inspect school buildings for general sanitation conditions.

20. Health Disaster Plan- plan on file.

 

The Coshocton City Home Health Agency provides intermittent Skilled Nursing, Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy and Home Health Aide Services. Services must be ordered by a physician and client should be under the care of a physician. There is a fee/visit charge for the services. This agency is Medicare/Medicaid certified and also accepts private insurance, private pay, title XX and Bureau of Workers Compensation as other pay sources.

Communicable diseases including Tuberculosis and Sexually Transmitted Diseases are to be reported to this department when clients are residents of the City.
